This was a very eventful week with 5 Team closings , adding up to a Team total of 10 settled properties in 2013!
Along with 10 active listings and 6 other properties under contract, requiring constant attention, and another listing (#7) going under contract, we were very busy this week. The market is really heating up.
With all this going it was somewhat amusing to run into an agent that did a deal with me a few years ago. She asked me how the market was doing. I told her I was very busy and she proceeded to chime-in that she was exhausted from all her business. I was frankly happy to hear that other agents are busy but, was quite surprised as I had not seen any of her “deals’ advertised anywhere. Well, today it only takes a minute, with the right tools, to check out whether an agent is really doing business in the MLS. So, I sent my “research assistant” into the MRIS data to see what this agent had been up to so far in 2013. It turns out she had two low-priced active condo listings and had nothing under contract and had not closed even ONE rental or sale in 2013! I assume that many agents like to “puff” about their sales activity but, at least in real estate you can check them out.
