Gaithersburg

Gaithersburg-Number-1 DSC2648 DSC5817 DSC6703 DSC6704

When looking for a new place to settle down and call home, one of the best combinations of qualities that an area can possess is a slower pace of life with the option with very easy access to busier locations. These things are really what make the suburban areas of Washington DC so desirable for tens of thousands of people. Of every area surrounding the big city, Gaithersburg is the place that represents this type of lifestyle well.

Gaithersburg is a city with more than 200 years of history to its name
More than being an incredibly beautiful and convenient area, Gaithersburg also has a long history. For those who live here or come to visit, there are several historic sites that are worth visiting. The Kentlands Mansion is a 19th century mansion that used to belong to one of the most prominent businessmen in the city. Visitors can sign up for tours or even book it as a venue for special events like weddings and parties.

The housing in Gaithersburg is incredibly diverse
Gaithersburg offers a wide variety of housing options located on the east and west sides of I-270 and each of them is incredibly unique from the other. On the east side of the interstate, there are communities that have significant historic roots, with many of the homes being well over 100 years old. For example, the Old Towne neighborhood has quite a few single-family homes that were built during the late 1800s and early 1900s. There are even a few areas here that are registered as historic districts.

On the west side of the interstate, you have the more modern homes and neighborhoods. Here, people can live in neighborhoods and complexes that are spread among shops and restaurants. So, there are tons of options for things to do and places to go.

Speaking of shopping and restaurants…….
When it comes time to relax there is a great variety of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, breweries, and pubs that are great for anything from a happy hour with your colleagues or an incredibly romantic dinner date with a significant other. Also, if you find yourself stressed and need a good dose of shopping therapy, areas near I-270 and I-370 are abundant with shops and movie theaters.
